Instrument Overview: The BD FACSymphony Spectral is an analysis cytometer with 5 lasers (Blue, Yellow-Green, Violet, Red and UV). With 48 fluorescent detectors, the FACSymphony Spectral has the capability to create a spectral signature from the bound fluorophores. The updated BD FACSDiva can unmix spectral data to better separate similar fluorophores. In addition, the FACSymphony A5.2 retains ability for users to choose the conventional compensation workflow similar to older systems.
Current testing has demonstrated the FACSymphony A5.2 can detect 38 fluorophores simultaneously, allowing simultaneous measurements of many surface and intracellular cell markers, enabling broad or deep phenotyping from a single sample. Panel design services are available by the SIgN Flow Cytometry platform.
