Instrument Overview: The laser scan confocal is based on an inverted Observer.Z1 microscope, and has all the standard multi-dimensional, multi-position and tiling imaging over time for live samples. In addition, confocal imaging would benefit the most from increased sensitivity, resolution, and speed from 2 sensitive GaAsP detectors , with up to 8 frames/sec with 512 x 512 pixels and up to 6144 x 6144 pixels resolution. The tiling function in the Zen Blue software is quite powerful and allows one to collect multiple images across a large field of view and/or pre-defined positions in multi-well plates using both low and high magnification objectives. In addition, the dedicated experiment-designer module allows complicated imaging process planning.
